Aachen studied under E. Jerrigh and eventually traveled to Italy to learn more about the art of painting. The young German painter studied in Venice and Florence, and also briefly under the famous painter Kaspar Rems. During his time in Italy, he travelled to Rome and Italy, where he cultivated his method of blending colors and textures. He also studied under Michelangelo’s followers, and also worked alongside Hendrick Goltzius.

Von Aachen’s art is also a good example of the impact of the Renaissance on art. A large part of the Renaissance is due to the work of painters of the time. In 1588, he painted for the Duke of Bavaria in Munich. His portraits and historical scenes soon gained him great popularity. His work was also sought after by noble houses. His paintings include the famous Liberation of Hungary, painted in 1598 in Budapest. Von Aachen died in Prague in 1615.

The art of Hans von Aachen’s oeuvre can be found in the Medici family of Florence, the Bavarian Dukes in Munich, and the Emperor Rudolf II of the Holy Roman Empire.
