Edmond Aman-Jean is a French artist whose works often depict women. He was a close friend of Seurat and was praised by Robert Herbert for his portrait of the artist. In 1883, Seurat exhibited the portrait in the Salon de la Rose+Croix. He also worked in lithography and designed posters. Moreover, his paintings of women are among his most famous works.
