Henry Alken was an English artist who was famous for his sporting subjets as well as coaching scenes.
Henry was born in a art family on 12 October 1785. His father and brothers are also artist. They moved to Bedford Square in 1789. Henry studied art from his father while he was a child and then as a student of John Thomas Barber Beaumont. He sent a couple of artworks to Royal Academy Exhibition In 1801.
Originally from1816 onwards Henry Alken created an endless stream of artworks of field and sports topic. He lived on the shop in Haymarket at the age of 26. He passed away on Apr 7 1851 and was buried in Highgate cemetery.
